Position: Analyst/Sr Analyst
Location: New Delhi
Reporting to: Director

If so, CSI is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Analyst to contribute to our growing impact. The role involves rigorous research, data analysis, and modelling at the intersection of green finance, transition pathways, financial systems, and public policy. The analyst will work closely with senior researchers, policy experts, and external stakeholders to translate real-economy transition pathways into financing needs, risks, and policy insights.
This is a high-impact role offering exposure to regulators, financial institutions, DFIs, and policymakers.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Data Analysis
- Collect, clean, and analyse data on:
- Green and transition finance flows
- Bank lending, bond issuance, equity markets, and the private market
- Public finance and DFI interventions
- Track policy, regulatory, and market developments related to green and transition finance in India
- Financial System & Risk Assessment
- Assist in analysing:
- Banking system development in green finance
- Capital market development in renewable, green and related areas
- Private equity and foreign investors’ participation and development in green sectors in India
- Monitor regulatory development on green finance in India and abroad
- Support work on transition risk and financial stability narratives
- Writing & Knowledge Products
- Draft long-research papers, background notes, sector briefs, and analytical inputs
- Prepare tables, charts, and visual summaries for reports and presentations
- Support the preparation of policy briefs for regulators and ministries
- Stakeholder & Process Support
- Support the organisation of expert consultations and workshops
- Prepare briefing notes for meetings with policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions
- Assist in the documentation of feedback and revisions
Required Qualifications
Note: This role requires prior academic or professional experience in the financial sector. Candidates without this background are kindly requested not to apply.
Essential
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), or related fields
- 2–7 years of experience in:
- Financial sector research
- Economic or policy research
- Climate/green finance
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to work with large datasets (Excel mandatory)
Desirable
- Experience with:
- Python / R / Stata (basic to intermediate)
- Financial modelling
- Prior exposure to policy-facing research is a strong plus
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to connect finance with real-economy transition challenges
- Clear writing skills for policy and finance audiences
- Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary research team
- Comfort engaging with technical, regulatory, and financial concepts
