Anoop Badhwa

Anoop Badhwa, CSI's advisor, is a seasoned Indian Forest Service officer with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. He has held key leadership positions such as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests for Maharashtra and Inspector General of Forests at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. His expertise includes policy formulation, planning, and implementation in areas like afforestation, watershed management, and tiger conservation.

Mr. Badhwa has played a pivotal role in India’s environmental initiatives, including contributing to the UNFCCC’s COP21 and leading efforts under the Bonn Challenge. He has a strong academic background with advanced training from prestigious institutions like the Wildlife Institute of India, IIM Bangalore, and Oxford Forestry Institute.

His work has been instrumental in setting up Tiger Reserves, promoting joint forest management (JFM), and spearheading eco-development projects. He is a recognised leader in forest management, known for his commitment to sustainable development and biodiversity conservation.
