Honey Karun

Honey Karun is a macroeconomic and public policy professional with over 17 years of research experience across multilateral organisations, leading think-tanks and policymaking institutions. In his last assignment as an Advisor to the Quality Council of India he engaged in setting up a team to develop ESG and sustainable policy research and advocacy with a key focus on SMEs. His experience as an Economist is diversified into rigorous analytical research on issues of public investment, global tax cooperation and development policy issues including on poverty estimation, agriculture market reforms, financial inclusion. Hehas worked as an Economist for the International Monetary Fund in the Resident Representative Office for India, Nepal and Bhutan. During his tenure at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, he assisted Dr. Rathin Roy (former member of PMEAC, and 7th CPC) on fiscal policy issues, international public finance and 7th CPC. He also assisted the task force for “Global Tax Cooperation” on the issue of International Governance of Tax Issues, for T20 Germany under the aegis of G20 German Presidency. He has received trainings on global governance issues at German Development Institute, Bonn, and Foreign Service Academy at Federal Foreign Office, Berlin, Germany. He holds M.Phil. in Economics from JNU. His research interests include macroeconomics, public investment, and role of multilateral institutions in climate finance.
