Kartikey Sharma

Consultant
Kartikey Sharma is a Consultant at Climate and Sustainability Initiative (CSI), wherein he supports research and advisory engagements focused on climate finance, climate economics, and climate change-based financial risk resilience. Through his research, he aims to improve the integration of climate-related risks into financial decision-making, helping financial institutions, governments, and broader economic systems better account for climate risks and opportunities in long-term investment and sustainability planning.

Before joining CSI, Kartikey worked with WRI India, where he played a key role in aiding the organization in its partnership with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) to help build and scale the Climate Project Preparation Facility (CPPF), currently housed at NIUA. Before that, he was associated with TERI and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, wherein he worked on climate policy, climate finance and climate economics-focused projects, specifically on carbon markets, ESG and sustainability disclosures, sustainable agriculture, public finance, clean energy and circular economy.

Kartikey has a Master’s in Public Policy from OP Jindal Global University, where he was a merit scholar. His academic training, combined with his professional experience, has enabled him to develop expertise at the intersection of climate policy, finance, and economics, with a particular interest in strengthening climate resilience within financial systems.

Outside of work, Kartikey enjoys cooking, practicing his wrestling & boxing skills, and taking his bicycle on long rides.
