Analyst
Shubhansh Garg is an Analyst at the Climate and Sustainability Initiative (CSI), where he supports research and advisory engagements focused on climate finance, transition pathways, and financial resilience. His work aims to align financial systems and public institutions with India’s net-zero ambitions and climate-resilient development goals, with a strong emphasis on practical, implementation-oriented outcomes.

At CSI, Shubhansh works across multiple research themes examining how financial, institutional, technological, and climate-related risks influence investment outcomes in climate-sensitive sectors. His work involves analysing barriers to capital deployment and evaluating the effectiveness of technological, financial, and policy instruments in unlocking climate finance. He focuses on developing evidence-based recommendations for investors, policymakers, and public institutions, helping bridge the gap between policy design, implementation, and on-ground impact.

Prior to joining CSI, Shubhansh gained experience across finance and advisory roles, with exposure to sectors including power, infrastructure, insurance, brokerage firms, and public sector entities. This diverse background has shaped his ability to integrate financial analysis with sectoral and policy understanding, allowing him to assess risks and opportunities across different institutional contexts.

Shubhansh is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has cleared all levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme. His education and professional experience have provided him with a strong foundation in financial analysis, modelling, and investment assessment, enabling him to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for climate-focused decision-making.

Outside of work, Shubhansh enjoys analysing and investing in financial markets and staying engaged with developments in artificial intelligence. He spends his leisure time watching crime thrillers and sitcoms, walking and cycling in nature, and travelling to the coast or the hills whenever possible. He is also actively involved in community service through his association with the Rotary Club, reflecting his broader commitment to social impact.
